Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how KotoKey (“the App”) handles user information.

1. Information Stored on Your Device

To provide keyboard functionality, the App stores keyboard settings, themes, typing sounds, Text Replacements, conversion-learning data, recently used emoji, paid-feature entitlement status, and temporary access status earned from rewarded ads on your device or in on-device storage shared by the App and its keyboard extension.

This information is not sent to the Developer’s servers. The Developer does not provide user accounts or its own analytics service.

2. Keyboard Input

KotoKey does not send keyboard input to external servers. Keyboard input and conversion-learning data are used only to provide keyboard functionality and on-device suggestions and learning.

3. Full Access

Themes, typing sounds, Text Replacements, and conversion-learning data are applied to the keyboard extension even when Full Access is not enabled. Full Access is used only to play typing sounds through connected external audio devices, such as headphones, while the device is in Silent Mode.

The keyboard extension does not use Full Access permission to send keyboard input outside the device.

4. Advertising

The App uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to provide rewarded ads. For ad delivery, frequency capping, measurement, fraud prevention, and ad personalization, Google and third parties involved in ad delivery may collect and process IP addresses (which may be used to infer approximate location), device identifiers, advertising data such as ad impressions and video views, app-launch and interaction information, crash logs, and performance data.

The information collected and its uses may vary by device settings, region, and Google’s ad-serving settings. The App does not request App Tracking Transparency permission to use the IDFA. For Google’s handling of information, see the Google Privacy Policy.

5. In-App Purchases

The App offers one-time in-app purchases through Apple’s StoreKit. Payment information and purchase processing are handled by Apple. The Developer does not collect or store payment information. The App verifies purchase entitlement on the device and stores feature-access status.

6. External Services and Third-Party Disclosure

The Developer does not provide keyboard input, Text Replacements, conversion-learning data, or app settings to third parties, except for collection and processing by Google and third parties involved in ad delivery as described in “4. Advertising,” Apple’s processing of in-app purchases, or where required by law.

The App may include links to external services such as the App Store, Google Forms, and GitHub. Use of an external service is governed by that provider’s terms and privacy policy. In particular, information that a user voluntarily enters and submits through a Google Form is provided to Google and the form administrator.

7. Retention and Deletion

Users can delete Text Replacements and conversion-learning data stored on the device using the App’s deletion or reset features, or by deleting the App. Because the Developer does not retain this information on servers, the Developer cannot individually access, correct, or delete it.
